WOD GUIDANCE & GOALS
HEAVY DAY but there’s a little twist to the clean and jerks. Build up to 65-75% of your 1 rep max clean and jerk. When you’re ready, do 15 reps without pausing/breaking, then take as long as you need (suggested 2-3 minutes) before executing the set of 12 then the set of 9. It’s better to go on the heavier side and not complete the reps than to go too light and feel like you could have done more. Then from the racks, coaches will help you build to eight percent of your 1 rep max front squat, and you’ll do three sets of 5 reps at that weight. You should have no failed sets but the weight should feel HEAVY reps 3-5.

Next time: Do as many as I can quickly before resting between reps. Trying to go slow and rest after each rep killed my grip in the first two rounds. In the last round, where I was just going for 8, doing 5 or 6 quickly helped.

Well, this WOD was something else.
145 (9/12/9) / 185
Note: start with big sets and then chip away. First round was too slow and deliberate, so spent too much time under tension.
165# (15/11/9) failed that last clean in the middle. annoying.
135# across from the floor after being destroyed by Gwen.
Note for Gwen…. better to do a big set while you’re fresh and then grind. Did sets of 3 and then rested in the pocket in the round of 15. In hindsight that was dumb.

Working on technique—need to stay balanced on heels. Next time I do this will be amazing.
