Ho ho holy shitsticks! I went thru all phases of grief in this wod – denial (“I just won’t go”), anger (“Mel hates us, and all we do is love her, why??”), bargaining (“maybe I should go on the dread-mill”), depression (“FML!!!!”) and acceptance (“if I cherry pick I’ll be mad at myself all day, uuugh fine I’ll go”).
Of course now I’m glad I went, and I’m grateful to the 530 peeps and kate for getting me through. Although, I wouldn’t trade places with anyone in any of the upcoming classes today 😉

Superpower- 20:07 65# Superpowers is what you need to get through this WOD… My focus was the Thrusters 10/10/10/6-4/6-4 On Round 4 and 5 my superpowers were gone! I needed Ruby slippers, so I could click my heels and be anywhere other then doing this WOD. I used the row as my recovery and mind prep to get back on the bar… I think my total time was poor! But, I’m happy to have three straight sets of thrusters at 65# Progress towards making Fran my bitch!

“Superpower” – 18:48 85# @ 8 reps per round. I was hoping to do this rx today, but it wasn’t going happen. Mel had me scale reps to 8 & keep it heavy. Was able to go unbroken on all rounds, but reps 7 & 8 were awful. Not sure if I could have gone heavier.

After a recent medical intervention, I was finally also able to lift my left arm above my shoulder so I went for the thrusters instead of just front squat – yikes. 18:03 with 65#. All thrusters unbroken except set #3 where I got distracted.

As you can see, running with you made a huge difference in time!!! Fun being with you guys and doing this is daylight vs alone, in the dark 🙂

I actually loved this WOD. Average between 2:05-2:10. Ran into some problems with a lower back muscle spasm on the very first thruster. Wondering it was the transition from the erg to the squat stance. Thanks to Michelle for pointing out that I need to really focus on keeping a tight core. It worked and made it through without any pain, but lost a lot of time being cautious and stretching.
