Earlier this week, I flew back from coaching a Level 1 CrossFit Seminar in Enschede, a small city outside of Amsterdam. I should have been jet-lagged and miserable from such a short trans-Atlantic trip, but I wasn’t. I was jazzed up. The eagerness and excitement that the participants had for learning CrossFit and for cheering on one another during workouts reminded me of when I first started coaching CrossFit several years ago.

While CrossFit is becoming a bit more mainstream here in the US, it’s still in its early days over in Europe. This became quite evident to me as I trained these bright-eyed, aspiring coaches. That’s not to say the US isn’t passionate about CrossFit, it’s just that the excitement, fun and energy was so big and noticeable for such a small town in rural Holland.

It really got me excited to witness that fire in our members at Daybreak… when they get their first pull up… or rope climb… as they set a new personal best… or conquer a complex olympic lift. And the best part is that they won’t be doing it alone. There will be an army of Daybreakers by their side cheering them on. Just like that group of fired-up CrossFitters in Europe.
