219 (80, 71, 68 reps) – started on the row and ended on the push presses. Subbed 35# kettlebell swings for the SDLHP. Thrusters were with 14# med ball thrown straight up in the air (and rarely caught). (As it turns out, throwing and catching aren’t really strengths of mine…)
Great job tonight, Daybreakers!
271 (102,87,82) – 14# WB, 35 lb KB SDHP, Step ups after round 1, 55 lb. PP
Felt like death immediately afterward but decent within about 10 minutes after.
248 – Used 35# for SDHP, everything else as prescribed. My numbers were a little off for the first round, hopefully they weren’t for rounds 2 and 3 (I struggle with counting…. all those mini breaks I took weren’t really breaks, I was just working on my numbers game.) Box jumps – strength, SDHP – weakness
269 – BB 55#, KB 35#, MB 14#. Way too fast first round. 20 less 2nd round. 3 more than 2nd in 3rd round. Trouble staying on heels during thrusters. 1 minute rest was my strength!
Nice job last night, Garrett! I think you and I both PRed our 1-minute rest periods. 🙂
Tip for the thrusters (and push presses, and kettlebell swings, and anything else that requires you to stay on your heels): lift your big toes off the ground while you’re doing the movement and don’t let them come down. I have to fight to stay on my heels and this tip that I’ve heard Mel give probably 30 times finally clicked last week when we were doing kettlebell swings. I used it last night, and it honestly made some of the movements easier. Go figure!
Fight gone bad 355 Reps
Weak on sumos and push press. Need to work on that
