Not really sure how I ended up on this one. Did 75# and it was probably in the 5:30 range (it’s on the board if anyone cares to correct me). I’ll tell you what… DUs killed me. When I warmed up, I was all like “Wow, DUs are super easy! Look at me go.” Then the WOD started and I was all like “WTF??? Did my rope shrink? Did my feet grow? Am I having a stroke?” Mel added DUs to the growing list of things that she wants me to “spend a little time on” every day when I come in. That list now has wall squats, light clean and jerks (for form), butterfly pull ups (for form), HSPUs, and now DUs. I need to get my shiz together or my warm up will overtake me!
Jay’s right, the Rogue rope is pretty cool. Also check out RXSmartGear. It’s a slightly heavier cable and is great for getting proficient at stringing together DUs.
Do you guys think a better rope would help me get du’s more consistently…or are fancy ropes just for those who already have them and want to get faster? Nearly two years in to CF, I’m willing to take desperate measures, especially since a certain little blonde ninja insists that we do attempts rather than just singles 🙂
So Sara, what I, personally, found to help me get DUs was a heavier cable. The rxsmartgear rope I bought has a 3.4oz cable, which feels heavy. That heaviness keeps it going easier which made it easier for me to string them together. That said, using it all the time is tough because it’s heavy and it burns you out fast.
1 point yesterday (i actually missed two meals, was delusional and ate a slice of pizza – it looked like a vegetable after not eating all day) and 2 points today!
3 points today unless the kids do not eat the cupcakes my wife put in the car when I left for NH for the weekend. She is trying to beat me in the challenge so I question the motives.
3 points with a short burner of a home WOD that I forgot to time. 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 sit-ups and push-ups (just one of my many nemesis movements.) Tried to do the push-ups as unbroken as possible but the sets of 7 & 6 were really tough.

4:55 Rx had to do 1 and a half rounds of DU’s with one leg because i strained my calf. Would love to see what my time would have been normally.

I ended up doing this WOD at home 6:42 with a 30# weight bar (no barbell/plates) and 100 single unders (I don’t have a speed rope).
