12.3: 7 + 25 @ 55# with 5 TTB instead of 9 (I do them as singles so they take forever and I wanted to maintain the quick pace of the workout).

Sometimes I like to do CF math…not because I like math but because our goal should be “functional fitness” and I like to view our WODs in real-life terms. My box jumps today were the equivalent of jumping 200 feet (in 20″ increments). That’s 2/3 of the Statue of Liberty or Big Ben and higher than the Arc de Triomphe. Imagine someone asking you to jump up those structures 20″ at a time — you’d probably say you couldn’t do it. But, see, you can! With a bit of weightlifting and bar swinging in between 🙂

My first zero-point day. I kind of knew that today might be that way, and I was right. Had a work dinner tonight with about a hundred awesome faculty, staff, and students and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright. And honestly, zero points was totally worth it so I could listen to her tell stories from her career. More points tomorrow! And then the attempt to get points while on vacation stares me down on Saturday. Wish me luck – I’m going to need it!
