Exactly. I have enough trouble trying to zone a cheat food, let alone a whole meal. When I try to, I find myself looking to foods that are really chemically and processed because they are less fat, carbs, etc. — and that totally misses the point! I think (and this is me saying it…what do I know?) that it’s better to plan on some good “quality” food once or twice a week that you won’t weigh or measure and that may have sugar or gluten or alcohol or whatever. And that you will enjoy them without guilt — this will help you from feeling that the food or meal totally derailed you, which is what often makes people just toss aside a “diet” altogether.
That said, this was a WOD of firsts: I did the first two rounds of HSPUs Rx. First time I’ve done that in a WOD. First right legged pistols (I’ve had left leg pistol for a while, but right leg is new today). I did the first round and a half using (ugly) butterfly pull ups. First time in a WOD after starting work on them last week.
I’ll chase that WOD with a 3 point day, because, why not? Sunday was not so much. More like a 1 pointer.
Great work, Chris! Seriously, this is what it’s all about. Not just posting some sick time with an Rx (which is great…no doubt) but progressing and being proud of those gains. Wish I could do pistols…on either leg!

8+9 Rx (had to really watch depth on my right footed pistols, but Mel kept me honest 🙂 ) First and only time I’d done Mary before this, I was at 7+7 and I’m sure I wasn’t as disciplined on the pistols. HSPU’s felt great today.

worked out thu, fri, sat, rest day sunday. ate clean at capital grille on saturday. skipped their amazing bread… but then caved and had creme brulee for desert. dammit!
the big deal for me is still the shockingly small amount of alcohol consumed since the beginning of this. feels good.
mary: 6 + 25 Rx’ish I did the RX movements but lots of pistols were not 100% to depth or even 80%…. I needed a mirror…we dont have those, right? LOL But I def got way better as the wod went on so I am pumped about that! ONe leg is way better then the other one…..maybe from ACL surgery? Who knows.
Mary: 5+3. Two abmats for my kipping HSPUs. Assisted pistols — man, these buggers are HARD. Some day! 10 pull ups per round.

Her worst nightmare is that I just drink water or, even worse, that I pull out a food scale. So after a consultation with Mel, I think I’m ready to do a zone meal out. I’ll report back later!
Had a salad with grilled shrimp…had them hold the cheese, the dressing and the crunchy stuff (tortilla strip?). “Hold ALL the fun, please.” Used a little bit of olive oil and called it a 2-block meal. Not so bad.

Today was a massive mental battle. Thank you to the 9:30 class for encouraging me to get out of my funk and just move.
Mary – 6+ 19 ( 25# DB strict press, air squats ) Pistols were not happening at all and Pull Ups are starting to get tougher. I did most in 2s or singles.
1 point Sunday, 1 point Monday. Having a BLAST skiing in Big Sky with my in-laws, zoning my breakfasts, and eating whatever the hell I want the rest if the time. So much fun, even if I fail horribly at this challenge. 🙂

3 points, anyone have suggestions on a cheat meal for 3 or 4 blocks. That’s pretty much a bite of pizza or a bit of ice cream.
Maybe just forget about zoning the cheat meal…that’s what I do! Yes you lose a point for that, but it makes this whole thing feel a lot more sane!
