MOVEMENT of the MONTH: Snatch Technique

THE DETAILS

Eight weeks with no barbell and our lifting technique is bound to get rusty. It’s time to dial it back in with some practice and progressions. May’s Movement of the Month is practicing the Snatch progression. No barbell? No problem. Grab a PVC pipe or a broomstick or paint handle and follow the program outlined below to start grooming your technique in advance of your return to the gym.

  • WATCH: Review Coach Michele’s videos below, then refer to them as you need a refresher throughout the month:

About Lynne

I’ve been going to Daybreak CrossFit for 1 year and still think about my first team workout with Willis and Ezra. I mostly attend the 6:30AM class but sometimes show us for open gym or a 5:30PM class, depending on my work schedule. I work for a biotech gene therapy company in Lexington doing regulatory affairs…it pays the bills.

My husband, Josh (some of you met at the Holiday Party), and I moved to Massachusetts about 14 years ago from Southern California and don’t regret it. We currently live in Stow with our pup (Django) and cat (Tanaka).

#NoExcuses Nutrition Challenge: WINNERS!!

WINNERS

Congratulations to Neal and Katy Millman (Wayland), and Alex and Jenna Hauser (Acton) for winning the #NoExcuses Nutrition Challenge!!

Neal lost 26.2 pounds (11.2% of his bodyweight) and 6.5 inches, while Katy lost 6.4 pounds (4.2% of her bodyweight) and 4.5 inches. Team Millman had a score of 230, that’s a perfect 120 points and 114 points.

Alex lost 12 pounds (6% of his bodyweight) and Jenna lost 6 pounds (4.3% of her bodyweight). Team Hauser lost 13 inches total and had a score of 174.

Both teams are feeling energized, their clothes fit better and their workouts are faster and heavier!
