NUTRITION CHALLENGE UPDATE
Hey Daybreakers! Ada and Brett brought up a great observation about our Nutrition Challenge. They asked if rewarding a “workout” or “visit to CF” with an extra point every day would encourage too much activity and not enough rest. Well, it’s a great question. And here’s your answer:
You are smart and well-educated CrossFitters who KNOW that allowing your body to recover is as important as making it work. Again, let’s focus on the word “recover” versus “rest”. We have always been a proponent of active recovery over a complete day off.
So to aid in your recovery (and to give you your point), we want you to take a 20 minute walk on your “off” day to earn that point. Or come in, flip up your monitor (i.e. don’t look at it) on the erg, and row easy for 10-20 minutes. Or come in, grab a band and a lacrosse ball, and get your mobility on. All of these are valid “point-getters” and should be in your schedule at least once if not twice a week. Nobody should be wodding 7 days per week!!!

12:38 rx. :56 PR.
12:00, did the math wrong on subtracting the 4:30 from the start. 75# push press. 15/5/5/5 took it slow on the shoulder.

13:41 Rx – 30 second PR
9:40 rx (0:30 pr). stayed around a 1:53 500m pace on the row, unbroken jerks
13:30rx, 9 sec PR. As much as I have been “grumpy” about this food challenge, I have had 4 PRs in the last 4 wods/days, and today was a rowing wod. Those that know me, know any wod with rowing is a huge mental battle for me. #nutritionreallymatters #istillreallywantbrie #andapumkindonut #andbeer

Now I realize that since I did 1 set of 8 followed by 1 set of 5, then finished in sets of 4s I either did 29 or 33 jerks. I’m guessing 29! Counting is hard.
